Thin Layer chromatography. It works on the principle of separation in which the different components are adsorbed on the surface of adsorbent such as silica gel, alumina or cellulose. It is carried out on a sheet or plate of glass, metal or plastic which is covered with thin layer of solid adsorbent material. This thin layer of adsorbent is also called as stationary phase.
