ABN AMRO Backs Magic Lane’s Software Innovation Push

ABN AMRO invests in Magic Lane to enhance privacy-first navigation software, which aims to boost European digital innovation and support the growth of the mobility and mapping technology industry.

ABN AMRO has unveiled new funding to Magic Lane, a new European player in the navigation software and location intelligence market. The relocation helps Magic Lane establish privacy-first software products such as Magic Earth, a navigation tool that is an effective European alternative to the global tech giants in the same market.

The investment reflects the increased interest of ABN AMRO in the empowerment of innovative software companies that are operating in the mobility and data privacy markets. Karel Goeijenbier, Corporate Banker at ABN AMRO, said, "The financing will facilitate Magic Lane to require its worldwide growth and additional evolvement of groundbreaking navigation software."

Magic Lane as an offspring of the Route 66 software pioneers again provides a very lightweight and offline-able Software Development Kit (SDK) that integrates across platforms under any circumstance. The SDK targets e-bike manufacturers, ride-share clients, and smart fleet operators that need to navigate efficiently without violating the privacy rights of their users.

This funding also speeds up our time to provide scalable software innovation to micro-mobility, said Magic Lane CEO Raymond Alves.

Magic Lane is also well-placed in the expanding European tech ecosystem since its easy-to-use, hardware-agnostic software gives it the opportunity to become one of the partners of choice.
